The NFL season will kick off September 8, in Foxboro when the Patriots will play the Raiders. So who is going to win it all. I think the Patriots will win their 3rd straight Super Bowl. They have everyone coming back on offense and although their defense had some key losses they did sign some free agents to help fill the void. Some other teams to watch out for:
Colts - Great offense but, no defense.
Steelers - Great team but can't win the big game.
Panthers - After all the injuries they still nearly made the playoffs. They win the NFC.
Ravens - They might want to think about getting a quarterback.
Dolphins - Even if Ricky Williams doesn't work out, the rookie Ronnie Brown could become a star. Nick Saban is also a great coach. This team will suprise people this year.
Cardinals - Just kidding.
Rams - Not the same team they were a couple of years ago but, can suprise you. Ask the Seahawks.
Eagles - With T.O. or without him they can't win the Super Bowl.
Packers - They will make the playoffs were they will promptly lose.
I have a soft spot for the Packers (go Cheeseheads!!!), and since this will probably be Favre's last season, I would like to see them take it this year, tho it would be quite a longshot.
Gotta keep an eye on SF this season....last season was like a train wreck, so with a new coach, it can only get better......hopefully.
The problem with the NFL is that last years last place team could end up in the Super Bowl. The Pats have been fortunate to keep the same hard nosed players together for so long. The rest of the league has been a coin flip. After free agents started jumping from team to team, it's become almost impossible to predict. On paper and based on the previous year you can make arguments for certain teams, however in reality, the Cardinals are only 2 fumbles and an INT away from the playoffs. We'll see.
I'm picking the Broncos to go 14-2 in the regular season. Then they pull the upset against the Pats in the last round of the play-offs and dominate the Superbowl against the Eagles.
I've watched the preseaon games but haven't really been able to get a feel for the teams. Pittsburg looked to be puttering toward the end. We'll see how they do this week. The Pats will probably be a force; as with the Eagles. But, you know, it's anybody's game at this point.
If you look back to last year's opening game youu will see that the Colts problem is they can't stand sucess. When it seemed like they were about to make a score to turn momentum back in their favor something went wrong. On the first drive of the game Manning throws an interception inside the ten, Edgar James fumbles the ball twice in the red zone (one of those fumbles occured as he was about to cross the goal line) and then of course there was the missed field goal at the end of the game. The Colts worst enemy isn't the Patriots but, themselves.
I disagree (mainly because you're a Sox fan and it's forbidden for me to agree with anything you say). I've stopped using Gillette products because that stadium is cursed (for me). The tuck rule??? That was a fumble...
DAMMIT! THAT WAS A FUMBLE!!
The Colts not only should have won the game you're referring to, but they should have had home field advantage. I still don't believe that would have made the difference though. I would agree with you that the Colts beat themselves if not for one glaring fact... they weren't as good as the Patriots. The Colts make mistakes against the Pats mainly because the Pats D force them into making mistakes. They have a way of frustrating Peyton like no other team can. We'll see if this year will be any different.
The Colts have to play at Houston and then play at home against the Rams. The Patriots have to play at Denver and play the Bills at home. I think the Colts will be undefeated going into the game at New England but the Patriots will knock them off. I will say that the Colts are the best team in the NFL, so far.
Ok jammor! I've got my popcorn all ready. I may even have chilidogs tonight! Just make sure you have at least two boxes of tissues, cause you're gonna be cryin!
DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT! Easily the most difficult game I've even had the displeasure of watching! (Steelers at Colts) I've never seen a team lose one game four different times! You win jammor... this time.
Superbowl should be interesting....Seahawks and Steelers...I have money on the Seahawks so I hope they win. Personally I think this year may be a bad year for "entertainment" value as I think one team will dominate over the other. Still...if the Seahawks win then that will be all the "entertainment" I need. So...GO SEAHAWKS! BTW...The Patriot dynasty is over...just wait and see....MUHUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
