What is your religion?

I'm an agnoticist. Meaning I believe that humans are incapable of knowing if there is an existence of god.

Holy Moses!  That's one hell of a topic!

I chose "None of the above" even though I was raised Methodist (Christian).  I believe in God, however I do not believe in religion.  Does that make sense?  Religion has been the cause or excuse for every major war.  I believe religion is a good idea that gets twisted by the rich and powerful to control the poor and powerless.

I do believe in God simply because when I look at nature, untouched by humans... colors and beauty of this world, I can't can't accept the idea of a cosmic accident.

Economy is another reason for many of the wars, just look at World War 2. Hitler may have never come to power had it been for Germany's terrible economy.

I didn't know what to say in this topic, but that perfectly describes me. spot on!

hmm... "atheist" or "agnostic" is more a conviction than a religion.
@ poison clan and billy brown

if you believe in God, or, let's say, the idea of God, but not in religion or church, then you're a deist. like George Washington.

Technically Christian, but I'm spiritual not religious.  Meaning that I'm concerned with my personal connection with God and how that can help me live a more fulfilling life.

Agnostic describes it best for me. My familiy background is jewish, but my parents were not religious either so my growing up was not influenced by religion very much.

I would have to say I was born or grew up Catholic, but seeing how things are. I consider myself spirtual, and I believe in philosophy and metaphysics. To complex to go into here.

I was brought up a "Jew-athlic" (mother catholic, father jewish), and after a childhood of THAT, it didn't take long for me to abandon all organized religion. PoisonClan pretty much summed up my feelings as well - I believe in God, I don't believe in organized religion.

A couple of things.  I don't believe there is a word 'agnoticist'.  At least acording to my dictionary, the word is 'agnostic'.  The dictionary meaning of agnostic is similar to one of the posts on this topic, that is, an agnostic is a person who holds that God and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable.

I have my own definition of agnosticism.  Or perhaps there is another word for it.  An agnostic is one who is unsure.  There is no basis for a God, but somehow you can't rule out God altogether.  I am an agnostic in this sense.  I also have no religion.

To me, God only has meaning as a personal one.  You can go to a church, temple, mosque, or other place all you want and pray and praise God.  But if you don't have a personal sense of a God, there is none.
